NIU College of Law Bar Prep Scholarships - 2026

Help the Next Generation of NIU Lawyers Cross the Finish Line

Your gift will provide more than financial assistance. It will provide time. It will provide focus. It will provide opportunity. And ultimately, it will help make a graduate's dream of becoming an attorney a reality.

For every law student, graduation is a milestone - but it is not the finish line. Before an NIU College of Law graduate can begin practicing law, there is one final hurdle: the bar examination.

Preparing for the bar exam requires months of intensive study and preparation. For some graduates, that preparation is made more difficult by the need to work full or part-time to meet living expenses. A Bar Prep Scholarship can make a meaningful difference. It can help reduce financial pressure to give a graduate more time to study and prepare for the exam. It can help turn a law degree into a license to practice.

We believe financial circumstances should not stand between a graduate and the opportunity to enter the legal profession. Supporting Bar Prep Scholarships is an investment in student success, access to the legal profession, and the future of the communities our graduates will serve.

The NIU College of Law Alumni Council is committed to raising funds for at least 10 Bar Prep Scholarships of $2,500 each for graduates preparing for the 2027 Illinois bar examination. Working together, we can help future NIU lawyers cross the finish line. Donate now!
